1) Using satellite imagery, researchers have found a significant positive correlation between urban green spaces and happiness in 60 countries. They study measured urban green space from satellite imagery and used the happiness score taken from the World Happiness Report published by the United Nations.
2) They also found a very strong correlation between green space and happiness for the top 30 wealthiest countries. For the bottom poorest 30 countries, happiness is more correlated to economic prosperity.
3) This information can be used for urban planning in the future. Planning more green spaces like parks can help increase the happiness of urban dwellers.
